Returns and Refunds

Online Returns Information:

  • In the event that your purchase is not suitable, for whatever reason, you have the right to return it to us.
  • Goods should be returned in new condition, unused, and with their original undamaged packaging.
  • We aim to process all returns within 72 hours. This may take slightly longer at busy times of the year. We will e-mail you once your return has been processed.
  • Any items returned will be refunded unless faulty or shipped in error.
  • If you wish to exchange an item for any reason, please place a new order for the items that you want.
  • Please note that it is your responsibility to pay for the return postage costs, no postage costs are refundable.
  • Goods may be returned for a refund within 30 days of receipt.
  • You do not need to contact us to notify us of your return unless the item is faulty or is outside of our 30-day policy.
  • Goods must be packaged securely to ensure they are not damaged in transit. The responsibility and liability of the goods remain with you until we are in receipt of the goods.
  • For health and safety reasons face masks cannot be returned for an exchange or refund.
  • Climbing & PPE Safety Equipment can only be returned on very strict conditions. Everything must be exactly as it was received, with packaging and labelling intact. If there is any sign or possibility that the goods have been used or contaminated then we regret that we are unable to accept a return on the grounds of consumer safety.
  • In the unlikely event that your purchase develops a fault, for whatever reason, then please contact us first either by telephone or email for further instructions. In the majority of cases, any faulty goods will have to be returned to us and then forwarded on to their respective suppliers for inspection. Please be aware that this process may take several weeks in some cases. Any postage costs paid will be refunded by THE CLIMBERS SHOP if a product is deemed as faulty and still under a manufacturer's warranty.

Waterproof and breathable, the Outdoor Research Adrenaline Mitts Women’s have all the functionality, features and protection required for a full day of skiing. The AlpenGrip LT palm and pre-curved fingers help to give a secure and durable hold on your ski poles, with the nylon outer providing tough protection for your hands.

The Ventia insert is waterproof and breathable to give all day comfort and reliable weather protection. Insulation and warmth comes from the EnduraLoft polyester filling, backed up by a soft and warm polyester tricot lining. The removable leash helps to ensure that you don’t drop them when on a lift and the pull-on loop makes getting them on easier, especially if already wearing a pair of liners.

Your extremities are VERY delicate so keeping them warm is and protected from the elements is very important. When you are cold, your body protects itself by pulling blood away from your extremities to your core (body and head/brain) for protection. This makes for cold hands and a lack of dexterity which is at best frustrating when it comes to clipping rucksack buckles but if you are in colder temperatures then things can turn very serious.

Top tips to make the right choice:

Try them on!

Make sure you can both remove and put the gloves on your opposite hand while wearing them and check to see if they fit under or over your jacket cuffs. Don’t forget to think about layers if you are going somewhere cold or suffer from bad circulation and make sure each layer fits to allow for insulation to loft without feeling tight or crushed.

Don’t forget to check you have brought the right size for your hands and fingers. The best way to do this is…..try them on.

    I’m forever buying new gloves and mitts, in my quest for warm hands while out in the mountains. Despite buying many fancier, more expensive options, my favourite mitts are a very old pair by Outdoor Research, which now really need replacing. So I was delighted to spot this pair of mitts in the sale, and even more delighted to find they were just like my old pair. The outer fabric is supple enough to grip things without difficulty (eg the compass, when trying to walk on a bearing in torrential rain), and they are easy to get on and off quickly, with no fuss. (Even when using your teeth to get the second mitt on!) The fleece inner is ONLY sewn in a way that separates the thumb from the rest of your hand - unlike the annoying trend of some other brands to separate out individual fingers with stitching as well. (I find those mitts very hard to get on once your hands are soaked, and don’t like that you can’t wear fleece inner mitts inside them.) I tried both the medium and large womens sizes , but chose the large. I’ve pretty small hands, but found these would fit 2 sets of liner gloves (both thick and thin) inside if needed, while still working well if worn on their own. They aren’t big enough to fit my biggest primaloft ice climbing gloves inside them, but for times when those are soaked, and I just want to tear them off and get my hands warm again, these will be in the bottom of my rucksack to change into (along with spare dry fleece inner gloves or mitts). And for general UK mountain weather (whatever the season), they will be going in the bottom of my sack too (if they aren’t already on, along with my waterproofs!) Definitely a good mitt to get if you want something simple that you can rely on.
