Crampons

Crampons give you grip and security on snow, ice and frozen ground, whether you're tackling a winter hillwalk or a technical alpine route. Choosing the right pair comes down to two things: what you'll use them for, and the boots you'll wear them with.

Crampons are graded C1 to C3, and boots B0 to B3. Flexible C1 crampons pair with stiffer walking boots for winter paths and easy snow slopes. C2 crampons suit four-season boots for general mountaineering. Fully rigid C3 crampons are built for technical ice and mixed climbing on B3 boots. Matching the grade to your boot is what keeps a crampon secure underfoot.
