Welcome to Llanberis
Our original Joe Brown shop is on the main street of Llanberis, sitting close to the shores of Llyn Padarn, and just across the road from the world-famous North Wales Slate quarries for sport climbing. Packed full of history, our great little shop was opened by climbers in 1966, leading the way in the best range of technical rock climbing equipment, rucksacks, outdoor clothing and footwear.
Why Visit Our Llanberis Shop?
Our Llanberis shop was the original home of Joe Brown, one of the UK’s best climbers of all time and the first Briton to climber over 8000m in 1955.
Llanberis is a vibrant town with shops, cafe’s, pubs, the National Slate Museum, lake access and a bus stop literally outside the shop for Pen Y Pass at the base of Yr Wyddfa/Snowdon. We sell maps and climbing guides for the local area and across the globe.
Our Llanberis shop is the halfway point on the Mountain Goat Circuit, a fantastic circular skyline challenge linking our two shops across some of the best terrain Eryri/Snowdonia has to offer!
We are also on route for the Paddy Buckley Round, the Slate Trail, the Pilgrims Way and the Eryri 360 cycle challenge
