The Vango Tempest Pro 200 is a solid tent that’s ideal for multi-day treks and wild camping, with plenty of features and upgrades to make it even better than the previous version. The poles are now Yunan Eco Alloy – strong and lightweight with brilliant performance in higher winds. The flysheet has been upgraded to a ripstop polyester – with 13% more strength and a hydrostatic head of 5000m it’ll fend off the rain with ease.
It also features Vango's TBS II Tension Band System - bands that can be braced to help give the tent more stability and reduce sideways movement in bad weather. The O-shaped inner door is easy to open with one hand and has a part-mesh inner for ventilation, with the bonus of keeping bugs out. There’s also the Venturi Vent System, helping air to flow between the inner and outer for reduced condensation build-up.
The simple but compact tunnel design is great for keeping a low profile when wild camping, with the toned-down green of the flysheet ensuring you blend into the landscape better. The all-in-one pitching means you can quickly get it up and have protection from the rain in a hurry. With practice it can be pitched in a matter of minutes.

A footprint or groundsheet protector is an excellent investment – moles have no idea how much financial trauma they cause when trying to surface under a brand new tent!
If you are a super tidy tent person and have a tent partner who, er….isn’t; save yourself hours of torment by gifting them a gear loft or tent tidy so you don’t lose valuable life minutes while they ratch around for their stuff.
Remember to place your shockcorded poles together rather than allow them to snap together this reduces fracturing at the ends over time.
A tarp pitched over the front of your tent can make a great gear garage so you have more space inside. It can also double up as an all weather kitchen.
ALWAYS keep your inner doors zipped up while pitching a geodesic tent in a high wind. If it is not pegged down it could go up, up, up and far away…..
