The Petzl Boreo helmet is designed with durability and versatility in mind. Climbing, mountaineering, via Ferrata, canyoning – it can do it all!
The hybrid construction starts with a thick ABS (acrylonitrile butadiene styrene) outer shell, designed to be impact and scratch resistant for optimal durability. EPP (expanded polypropylene) and EPS (expanded polystyrene) line the shell to absorb shock and further protect the head from any impacts.
The Boreo carries Petzl’s TOP AND SIDE PROTECTION product label, highlighting the expanded protection that the design offers. Lateral, front and rear impact zones have been considered and protected against with the head-covering design and lower rear.
It is suitable for climbing, mountaineering, via Ferrata, canyoning and caving, with four clips for a headtorch attachment and VIZION eye shield compatibility.

Top Tips to make the right choice:
The best helmet is the most comfortable one that fits your head. If you can’t feel it on, then it is absolutely the right one for you (and you are more likely to wear it!)
Try on as many different styles as you can. If you wear a ponytail when you climb, make sure you try your helmet on with it. If you are planning on wearing a hat underneath – make sure you try your helmet on with it. If you plan on keeping your sandwiches in between the cradle and helmet shell – errr, don’t bring them into the shop.
Wearing a brightly coloured helmet can make you quicker to find in an emergency (and looks great in the pics!)
