With Pre-Order, you can purchase the latest items added to our store in advance of them arriving with us.
Your Pre-Order is prioritised (at no additional charge); meaning that as soon as the product arrives with us, we can wrap it straight back up; ready for collection via Click & Collect or despatch to you — it often never even hits the stock room shelves!
With Pre-Launch, the date when we expect to receive the product ourselves is still a little too hazy to be confident in accepting Pre-Orders.
So, instead, you can submit your email address against the item you are interested in and we will email you as soon as stock arrives on the system.
Estimated Delivery & Collection Dates are given on Pre-Order and Pre-Launch products. They are for indication purposes only and can change at any time without notice.
The dates we provide are based on indications given by our suppliers. Whenever we get updated information from our suppliers we will endeavour to update the Estimated Delivery & Collection Dates provided on product pages.

The Mountain King Guide AS Trekking Pole features a switchable on/off antishock system. This system takes out impact forces making it kinder to elbows and shoulders on long treks. If of course you want a fully rigid pole for extra support, say on a steep climb, then the anti-shock can be easily locked out.
This pole is made using lightweight 7075 Aluminium alloy too, keeping the weight per pole down to just 245g. It also collapses down to a respectable 65cm length making it great for travelling.
Designed and manufactured in Newcastle upon Tyne, Mountain King poles pride themselves on their high quality workmanship.
Antishock is great for down hill sections when more weight is put on the poles as it reduces jarring.
For uphill sections compressing the spring is a waste of energy and so the antishock can be turned off (where this option is available), increasing the benefit of using poles. For backpackers and those carrying heavy loads the Expedition - Expert has two springs in tandem giving progressively increased resistance. This is particularly beneficial for demanding users.
Using on /off antishock
Operate by tightening the middle section until a click is felt. Tighten a further quarter turn. At this point the antishock is off.
To turn on the antishock simply untighten the middle section slightly to feel the click again. The antishock is now turned on.
