With a full back panel opening providing quick entry to the entire contents of the pack, accessed by unclipping the stabiliser straps, the Deuter Rise 32+ SL is a true ergonomic rucksack with plenty of functionality. This entry point gives another way to pack, making sure that quickly needed items can be found without emptying out the contents of the bag. A large, flat front pocket with inside reinforcement is designed for a shovel blade, with a sleeve for the handle and an avalanche probe next to them.
Skis can be carried in two ways; diagonally across the back with the attachment loops that neatly tuck away, or the burly, reinforced side holders, with the side compression straps giving extra hold further up the binding. The snowboard/snowshoe attachment is using compression straps that neatly fold away into the front panel, with extra reinforcement for sharp edges and secure transport.
Comfort hasn’t been forgotten, with Deuter’s very comfortable Alpine backsystem, providing stability and ventilation with the back pads, keeping the load closer and allowing movement with your back. The firm hip fins give a secure and solid fit, along with the S-shaped shoulder straps and flexible, lightweight frame, allowing for natural movement while holding shape and taking the load. This SL version has been given a women's specific for extra comfort and ergonomics.
The back system also contains a removable foam sit mat, ideal for keeping out the cold when taking a break or giving insulation for a casualty in an emergency situation. There’s also a hidden loop for poles or ice axes, with adjustable cords further up to help hold them in place. The daisy chains and 4 other tape loops on the body provide points to attach a helmet holder or make your own storage. Side pockets provide a space for easy access items along with the right-hand hip belt pocket; the left hip belt features a gear loop for climbing equipment. The lid expands to give an extra 8L of space, with the attached sleeve covering the top of the rucksack, letting you move the lid down to the front, giving extra space to look up when wearing a helmet.
All in all, the Deuter Rise 32+ SL is the ideal rucksack with a comprehensive combination of features for ski touring, mountaineering and anything in between.
