• Helichrysum Italicum, also known as Immortelle, belongs to the Asteraceae family which includes nearly 13,000 species. It is part of the Helichrysum genus . It is possible to consume certain types such as lettuce (Lactuca), chicory-endive (Cichorium), artichoke (Cynara) ... Helichrysum comes from the Greek "Helios", sun, and "Chrysos", gold, because its flowers look like small golden suns. Immortal because its flowers never fade away ... The essential oil is obtained by steam distillation of the flowering tops and it is therapeutically used for its very specific biochemical compounds. Rare and precious, the hard work of five pickers will harvest a ton of daily flowering tops, just enough to get a little liter of essential oil. We do not know where to start as its properties are so interesting. The most outstanding property is its miraculous anti-haematoma action. Its anti-inflammatory and pain-relief actions are stunning. We can also add its anticoagulant, invigorating blood circulation actions and efficiency to heal and regenerate damaged tissues. It will be used in the following situations: Heamatoma, trauma, bruises, wounds, phlebitis, varicose veins, edema, rheumatism, arthritis. 
• Wintergreen (Gaultheria procumbens), also called Tea of Canada, is a small shrub of the Ericaceae family. This creeping shrub of less than 15cm high grows in the forests of North America, Canada and China. The essential oil of Wintergreen is obtained from the distillation of its leaves. It contains about 98% of methyl salicylate, a substance that has the same analgesic effects as aspirin. The essential oil of Wintergreen is known for its pain-relief and anti-inflammatory properties. It is mainly used to ease muscle pain (tendonitis, lumbago, cramps, spasms, torticollis) and to relieve rheumatism, arthritis and osteoarthritis. This essential oil enters in the composition of the blends used by athletes because it helps removing lactic acid. A very interesting and beneficial essential oil for climbing! 
• Peppermint: Essential because of its versatility of actions, the EO of Peppermint has an unique action that lowers the temperature at the application point ("cold effect") giving a vasoconstrictor effect in vessels (relief of migraine) and an anti-inflammatory effect on the ligaments and joints (tendinitis). Containing ketones, it must be used with caution and mixed with other EO. If used pure, it must be applied on limited areas (forehead, temples, earlobe, nose), otherwise you could be transformed into a giant ice cube! It is a powerful essential oil to use in case of migraine, tendonitis, pain from nervous origins.
• Linoleic acid is a polyunsaturated fatty acid belonging to the omega-6 family. This fatty acid is not synthesized by the body. This is why it is called "essential" fatty acid. A deficiency of omega-6 can cause really dry skin and severe allergies. This fatty acid enters in the composition of ceramides. It participates in the reconstitution of epidermal lipids and promotes good cohesion of skin cells together. Linoleic acid helps to limit water loss from the skin while providing soothing and nourishing qualities.
