With Pre-Order, you can purchase the latest items added to our store in advance of them arriving with us.
Your Pre-Order is prioritised (at no additional charge); meaning that as soon as the product arrives with us, we can wrap it straight back up; ready for collection via Click & Collect or despatch to you — it often never even hits the stock room shelves!
With Pre-Launch, the date when we expect to receive the product ourselves is still a little too hazy to be confident in accepting Pre-Orders.
So, instead, you can submit your email address against the item you are interested in and we will email you as soon as stock arrives on the system.
Estimated Delivery & Collection Dates are given on Pre-Order and Pre-Launch products. They are for indication purposes only and can change at any time without notice.
The dates we provide are based on indications given by our suppliers. Whenever we get updated information from our suppliers we will endeavour to update the Estimated Delivery & Collection Dates provided on product pages.

Edelrid's 9.8mm Parrot Rope sets a new standard in environmentally sensitive products as it's made with reused sheath yarns leftover from the production of other ropes. This also keeps production costs down, which means a lower price for you.
Because it uses upcycled surplus yarns, sheath colours are never standard and each production batch will be unique, making every Parrot rope a limited edition.
Although it uses remnant yarns, the Parrot rope is exactly like every other high-quality climbing rope. It complies with all safety standards and has the same handling characteristics, just the sheath colours are a little more individual.
All in all, the Edelrid Parrot 9.8mm ropes are good for your pocket, good for the planet and good for climbers of all disciplines, from novice to expert.

Technical information
Possibly THE most important part of your climbing arsenal but let’s face it buying a rope is a pretty meaty investment for all of us. Why? Because things have come on a bit since Joe Brown headed out to the Peak District crags with his Mum’s old washing line – these days there’s an incredible amount of science and technology in your rope designed to absorb shock, repel water, reduce abrasion with some even tested specifically to retain strength if your rope runs over a sharp edge. But there are so many! Here’s how to choose the one that will work best for you…..
In addition to all this are the tests and ratings – like we said a HUGE amount of science goes into ropes to make them safe. As long as the rope carries a CE/UKCA & UIAA marking you can be sure it has been made to a minimum level but you also have a responsibility to understand what you are buying and how to use a rope safely as part of a climbing system. Our sales team can help explain these more when you come into the shop – it’s way easier than endless scrolling online. It saves time too so you can get out on the crags and enjoy more climbing!
