The Mountain Equipment Saltoro Women's Jacket is a lightweight and packable GORE-TEX waterproof jacket designed for hiking, trekking, backpacking and mountain walking. Offering dependable protection from rain and wind without excessive weight, it is an ideal shell to carry when changeable mountain weather is expected.
The jacket uses a 3-layer 75D GORE-TEX ePE construction with a recycled polyester face fabric and PFAS-free DWR finish. This combination provides reliable waterproof and breathable protection while offering the durability needed for regular use with a rucksack. Taped seams throughout help prevent water from penetrating through the stitching.
The women's Alpine Fit incorporates articulated and pre-shaped sleeves for unrestricted movement, making the Saltoro comfortable on long hill days as well as more technical terrain. Its fully adjustable, helmet-compatible Mountain Hood provides additional protection during heavy rain, while the dropped rear hem, adjustable laminated cuffs and dual-tether hem drawcord help keep the elements out.
Ventilation can be controlled using the YKK® WR underarm zips, particularly useful during steep climbs and warmer conditions. The two large zipped pockets provide plenty of room for maps and other essentials, while the YKK® AquaGuard® centre-front zip and internal storm flap add further weather protection.
