The Mountain Equipment Orion Women’s Jacket is a highly protective, lightweight waterproof shell designed for demanding alpine climbing and mountaineering. Built for big objectives in challenging conditions, it combines exceptional weather protection, breathability and freedom of movement in a women-specific alpine fit.
The Orion uses 3-layer DRILITE® XT, Mountain Equipment’s high-performance waterproof and breathable membrane. Its nanoporous construction provides a hydrostatic head of over 20,000mm while maintaining excellent breathability, helping you stay protected from heavy rain, snow and strong winds during high-output mountain activities.
Durability is a key feature, with a tough 160D reinforcement fabric across high-wear areas and a more flexible 70D fabric through the rest of the jacket. Mountain Equipment’s advanced Storm construction combines laser cutting, bonding and carefully optimised stitching to provide a highly protective and durable shell without unnecessary bulk.
The fully adjustable Super Alpine HC Hood is designed to fit over a climbing helmet while maintaining a secure, functional fit when moving on technical terrain. Articulated and pre-shaped sleeves provide unrestricted movement, while the seamless face panel enhances comfort.
Practical features include a two-way YKK® AquaGuard® front zip, large laminated chest pockets, water-resistant underarm pit zips for ventilation and a laminated internal zipped pocket. Adjustable cuffs and dual-tether hem drawcords help seal out wind and weather.
