Compressionwear - CompresSport US Calf Guard
The CompresSport US Calf Guard is an ultralight compression tight that is designed to enhance the return of blood in your legs whilst excercising, and to reduce the accumalation fo lactic acid and toxins. Based on the CompresSport R2 Calf Guard, the US, or Ultra Silicone, features an addition of tactile silicon buds that help to maintain the guards position. This simple yet effective addition to your race gear means that you stay fresher and retain energy for longer as well as reducing fatigue which can slow your progress.
The CompresSport US calf guard is uniquely enhanced through the integration of a layer of 220 silicon gel buds surrounding the interior of the guard above the ankle. This optimises shock-absorption, greatly reduces muscle oscillation and provides increased support to the Achilles tendon.
Used as the number one calf guard worn at the Ironman World Championships in Kona 2010, and widely worn for the North Face Ultra Tour de Mont Blanc, the CompresSport range have been significantly adopted by serious athletes and enthusiastic amateurs alike due to their simple effectiveness.
As the ultra light fabric in the CompresSport US Calf Guard is designed for more effective venous return from the feet to the heart, your muscles will benefit from improved oxygenation, helping to reduce the possibility of cramps and injuries. Practically speaking, this then allows you to go out for longer, and undertake higher impact sessions with less fatigue and quicker recovery.
The Compressport fabric also optimises heat exchange and wicks away moisture, helping to regulate your body temperature
Being tight around your calf, the CompresSport fabric provides rigidity and support to muscles and therefore reduces the mini shock waves and vibrations that occur with every step and can cause increased fatigue and muscle damage. This support also helps to prevent muscle tears, joint pain, contractures, and micro-injuries.
You can also leave your CompresSport US Calf Supports on after excercise in order to accelerate blood flow post excercise which will then flush any build up of toxins from your muscles and increase the amount of oxygen that reaches them. This should then reduce the amount of muscle soreness that you experience int he days following excercise.
