Returns and Refunds

Online Returns Information:

  • In the event that your purchase is not suitable, for whatever reason, you have the right to return it to us.
  • Goods should be returned in new condition, unused, and with their original undamaged packaging.
  • We aim to process all returns within 72 hours. This may take slightly longer at busy times of the year. We will e-mail you once your return has been processed.
  • Any items returned will be refunded unless faulty or shipped in error.
  • If you wish to exchange an item for any reason, please place a new order for the items that you want.
  • Please note that it is your responsibility to pay for the return postage costs, no postage costs are refundable.
  • Goods may be returned for a refund within 30 days of receipt.
  • You do not need to contact us to notify us of your return unless the item is faulty or is outside of our 30-day policy.
  • Goods must be packaged securely to ensure they are not damaged in transit. The responsibility and liability of the goods remain with you until we are in receipt of the goods.
  • For health and safety reasons face masks cannot be returned for an exchange or refund.
  • Climbing & PPE Safety Equipment can only be returned on very strict conditions. Everything must be exactly as it was received, with packaging and labelling intact. If there is any sign or possibility that the goods have been used or contaminated then we regret that we are unable to accept a return on the grounds of consumer safety.
  • In the unlikely event that your purchase develops a fault, for whatever reason, then please contact us first either by telephone or email for further instructions. In the majority of cases, any faulty goods will have to be returned to us and then forwarded on to their respective suppliers for inspection. Please be aware that this process may take several weeks in some cases. Any postage costs paid will be refunded by THE CLIMBERS SHOP if a product is deemed as faulty and still under a manufacturer's warranty.

The Hilleberg Soulo is an ultra light and ultra strong single person backpacking and mountaineering tent. Its free standing design makes it highly versatile and able to cope with high winds and snow loads. 

The Soulo benefits from a spacious vestibule for kit storage and cooking, and its strength means it's well suited for exposed altitude conditions as well as more relaxed valley camping. With a 3 pole/3 crossing structure - like its bigger brother,  the Hilleberg Jannu - it has a very strong yet very light structure. The Kerlon 1200 flysheet fabric combined with 9mm DAC alloy poles make for a remarkably light tent, particularly when considering its overall strength and weather resistance.

Like the Hilleberg's Allak, it's free standing design make it excellent for challenging pitching conditions like knife-edge ridges, rocky ground, and wooden-floored sites found in some parks. It is certainly light enough for mobile journeys, where you move your camp every day, while its Dome structure imparts superb snow load handling ability, making it a fine choice for base camp use.

 

Technical Information
  • Free standing design that make it easy to pitch in difficult terrain
  • Short pole sleeve and clip system construction and linked inner and outer tents make for simple and quick set up.
  • Very compact footprint while maintaining interior roominess. 
  • Ultralight materials – Kerlon 1200 outer tent fabric and 9 mm poles – combined with the three poles crossing each other in three places – make for a very lightweight yet very stable tent with excellent snow-load handling capability. 
  • Pitching requires no pegs, but 12 peg points provide options for increasing stability: six loops, one at each pole end, and six double guy lines with double line runners, one along each pole line.
  • Both the floor space and head room are quite spacious thanks to the three pole structure and Dome design.
  • The single entrance/single vestibule configuration affords convenience, flexibility and comfort. And the vestibule is parallel to the sleeping area, so access to gear stored there is wonderfully convenient – you can even get at it while lying in your sleeping bag!
  • The Soulo’s ventilation system functions regardless of weather conditions, since both the inner tent’s fabric is highly breathable, and since there is a zipper adjustable vent above the door of the outer tent.

    easy to put up and stood up to strong winds, lashing rain and surprisingly warm in sub-zero weather. Full precautions needed to minimise condensation in cool conditions, not good for tall people on a tight budget. Footprint was free though.

    Hilleberg Soulo - bombproof quality as expected, but Id rather review The Climbers Shop staff & service, which over the years, has been second to none. Informative when there are slight delays, friendly, knowledgeable & will bend over backwards for customers. Six stars are needed :)

    I wrote a review for this tent just after I brought it in 2011. Well Ive been using it for over 4 years in all sorts of weather and in everything from campsites to backpacking wild camping. It doesnt come cheap but it is still as good as new and has never let me down. As such I feel it has given me value for money despite the price.

    Stunning tent... totally dependable and comfortable ..well worth the cost, one hint... always tidy the guy lines before packing up ... can get tangled very easily

    Great tent, very strong in high winds and certainly one of the best bets when the weather throws the worst at you. As usual, the only downside is the price but you get what you pay for.

    Totally dependable in all weathers even on Scottish mountain in high winds. Spacious, comfortable and well made. Worth carrying the extra weight for these benefits.
