The Lake District weather forecast for this weekend (Friday 15th - Sunday 17th May) isn't looking too promising, with the threat of frequent showers, some possibly heavy, a constant feature.  Unfortunately not a great weekend for climbing.

Temperature wise, it will be close to average for this time of year in the valley's, but it will feel significantly colder in the wind and rain.  Temperatures on the tops will be positively cool (around 4 -6 C) again feeling colder in the strong winds and rain.

Winds over the weekend will remain generally high, with the possibility of very strong gusts (up to 60mph on high ground).

Lightning has also been forecast as a possibility.

The perfect Cumbrian weather for a evenings Barbeque and camping, which a number of us are going to be doing tonight in Great Langdale.
