The Mountain Equipment Alpamayo Women's Jacket is a warm, weather-resistant synthetic insulated jacket built for serious winter climbing and mountaineering. Designed around the demands of harsh Scottish winters and changeable mountain conditions, it provides reliable insulation when cold, wet weather is unavoidable.
At its core is PrimaLoft® Gold Hi-Loft Ultra insulation with Cross Core™ aerogel technology, providing a high level of warmth while continuing to perform in damp conditions. The jacket uses 120g/m² insulation through the body and 80g/m² in the hood and sleeves, with an additional 60g/m² shoulder overlay to resist compression when carrying a pack. The synthetic insulation also dries quickly and retains its performance through repeated packing and unpacking.
The DRILITE® Loft 30D outer is windproof and highly weather-resistant, with a PFAS-free DWR and 1500mm hydrostatic head. This makes the Alpamayo an excellent choice as an insulating layer that can be worn over a shell or pulled on at a cold belay without worrying about exposing the insulation to light snow or moisture.
A women's Mountain HC insulated hood fits comfortably over a climbing helmet and features a wired visor to help maintain your field of vision in high winds. Articulated sleeves allow unrestricted movement when climbing, while the Mountain fit provides room for layering underneath. The two-way front zip, insulated baffle, elasticated cuffs and dual tether hem drawcords help minimise heat loss when conditions turn severe.
With practical handwarmer, chest and internal pockets and a supplied stuff sack with a carabiner loop, the Alpamayo Women's Jacket is a dependable cold-weather layer for winter climbing, mountaineering and demanding days in the mountains.
