Designed as a high-performance synthetic belay jacket, it is ideal for winter climbing, alpine climbing and expeditions where reliable protection is essential.
At its core, the Super Oreus uses double-layer Aetherm™ Precision Insulation, an advanced synthetic fill engineered to provide an exceptional warmth-to-weight ratio while maintaining excellent loft and packability. Mountain Equipment states that the Super Oreus is twice as warm as the standard Oreus, making it particularly suited to extremely cold conditions and exposed belays.
The lightweight DRILITE® Loft 10D outer fabric is completely windproof and highly weather-resistant, with a durable water-repellent finish that helps shed rain and snow. The protective Super Alpine HC Insulated Hood is fully adjustable and helmet-compatible, providing additional protection when conditions deteriorate.
A Mountain fit allows plenty of freedom of movement and sufficient space for layering, while the thoughtful pocket configuration provides ample storage for gloves and other essential equipment. When not needed, the jacket can be compressed into its lightweight stuff sack.
