The Mountain Equipment Intra Light Men's Vest is a versatile, lightweight insulated gilet designed to add core warmth without restricting movement or creating unnecessary bulk. Built for active use in the mountains, it works equally well as an outer layer on cool days or as an additional insulating layer beneath a waterproof shell.
At its core, the Intra Light Vest uses 40g/m² Aerius™ synthetic insulation through the front. This high-volume, low-weight insulation combines hollow and fine-denier fibres to provide an excellent warmth-to-weight ratio while remaining highly compressible. Unlike down, the synthetic insulation continues to provide reliable warmth in damp conditions, making it particularly useful for changeable mountain weather.
The front of the vest uses lightweight Helium 20D fabric, which offers wind resistance while keeping the overall weight low. A contrasting Octayarn Warp-knit back panel improves moisture transfer and drying performance, making the vest particularly well suited to high-output activities such as ski touring, rock climbing, alpine climbing and fast-moving mountain approaches.
Practical storage comes from two zipped hand pockets and a chest pocket, while stretch armholes provide unrestricted movement when climbing or moving quickly. The dual-tether hem drawcords allow you to fine-tune the fit and help prevent cold air entering underneath.
Weighing just 200g, the Intra Light Men's Vest packs into its own internal stuff pocket and is easy to carry when not required. It is a highly adaptable addition to a mountain layering system, providing fast-moving warmth without compromising mobility or pack space.
