The Mountain Equipment Fitzroy Men's Jacket is a warm, lightweight and highly weather-resistant synthetic insulated jacket designed for serious winter climbing and mountaineering. Developed for the harsh conditions of Scottish winter and the rapidly changing weather of Patagonia, it provides dependable insulation whether you're wearing it over a shell at a freezing belay, crossing exposed mountain terrain or stopping to refuel.
At its core is PrimaLoft® Gold Hi-Loft Ultra insulation with Cross Core™ aerogel technology, providing high levels of warmth while continuing to perform in wet conditions. The Fitzroy uses 120g/m² insulation through the body and 80g/m² in the hood and sleeves, with an additional 60g/m² shoulder overlay helping to prevent compression when carrying a pack. The synthetic insulation dries quickly and is designed to retain its performance through repeated packing and unpacking.
The DRILITE® Loft 30D outer fabric is completely windproof and highly weather resistant, with a PFAS-free DWR helping shed rain and snow. Mountain Equipment's DRILITE Loft fabric also provides a 1500mm hydrostatic head, making the Fitzroy particularly useful when conditions are damp, snowy and unpredictable.
A helmet-compatible Mountain HC Hood provides additional protection when climbing, with adjustable volume and a wired visor designed to maintain your field of vision in strong winds. The Mountain fit allows room for additional layers while articulated sleeves provide unrestricted movement when climbing.
Practical details include two zipped handwarmer pockets, a zipped chest pocket, an internal water bottle pocket and a large zipped security pocket. A two-way YKK® Vislon® front zip with insulated baffle, elasticated cuffs and dual-tether hem drawcords help seal in warmth when temperatures drop.
