The Rab Women’s Microlight Alpine Down Jacket is a lightweight, packable down jacket designed for climbing, mountaineering and year-round mountain use. Built around a women-specific fit, it delivers reliable warmth without excessive weight or bulk, making it an excellent choice for chilly belays, exposed summits, hillwalking and everyday outdoor adventures.
The jacket is insulated with 700FP recycled down, with 137g of down in a UK size 10. The down has a Grangers hydrophobic finish to help maintain performance in damp conditions. Rab uses body-mapped baffles to balance warmth and freedom of movement, with larger micro baffles across the back, shoulders and front and smaller nano baffles beneath the arms.
The outer is made from 30D Pertex® Quantum with NetPlus®, a lightweight, windproof and breathable fabric made using yarn from fully traceable post-consumer recycled fishing nets. A fluorocarbon-free durable water-repellent finish provides additional protection from light moisture, while the soft fabric is tough enough for regular use around crags and on the trail.
The regular women's fit provides comfortable layering space, while articulated sleeves allow unrestricted reach when climbing and scrambling. The adjustable hood features a malleable wired peak, offering useful protection while remaining easy to pack away.
Two zipped hand pockets and a chest pocket provide secure storage, while one hand pocket doubles as an integrated storage pocket with a loop for clipping the jacket to a harness. Elasticated cuffs, a drawcord-adjustable hem and an insulated centre-front zip help retain warmth when temperatures drop.
