The Rab Men’s Microlight Alpine Down Jacket is a lightweight, packable insulated jacket designed for climbing, mountaineering and year-round mountain use. Combining high-lofting recycled down with a windproof Pertex® Quantum with NetPlus® outer, it provides dependable warmth without adding unnecessary weight or bulk to your kit.
The jacket is insulated with 700FP recycled down, with 152g of down in a size medium. Rab uses a body-mapped baffle design to balance warmth and mobility, with larger micro baffles across the back, shoulders and front for efficient heat retention and smaller nano baffles beneath the arms to improve freedom of movement. The result is a versatile down layer that works equally well at chilly belays, on exposed summits or when extra warmth is needed around camp.
The outer uses 30D Pertex® Quantum with NetPlus®, made using yarn derived from fully traceable post-consumer recycled fishing nets. Lightweight, windproof and breathable, the fabric also features a fluorocarbon-free durable water-repellent treatment for added protection from light moisture.
A comfortable regular fit allows the Microlight Alpine to be layered over a baselayer or midlayer, while articulated sleeves provide unrestricted reach when climbing and scrambling. The adjustable hood features a wired peak for improved protection and can be packed down when not required.
Practical features include two zipped hand pockets, a chest pocket and an integrated storage pocket with a harness-clipping loop. Elasticated cuffs, a drawcord-adjustable hem and an insulated centre-front zip help retain warmth when temperatures drop.
