Returns and Refunds

Online Returns Information:

  • In the event that your purchase is not suitable, for whatever reason, you have the right to return it to us.
  • Goods should be returned in new condition, unused, and with their original undamaged packaging.
  • We aim to process all returns within 72 hours. This may take slightly longer at busy times of the year. We will e-mail you once your return has been processed.
  • Any items returned will be refunded unless faulty or shipped in error.
  • If you wish to exchange an item for any reason, please place a new order for the items that you want.
  • Please note that it is your responsibility to pay for the return postage costs, no postage costs are refundable.
  • Goods may be returned for a refund within 30 days of receipt.
  • You do not need to contact us to notify us of your return unless the item is faulty or is outside of our 30-day policy.
  • Goods must be packaged securely to ensure they are not damaged in transit. The responsibility and liability of the goods remain with you until we are in receipt of the goods.
  • For health and safety reasons face masks cannot be returned for an exchange or refund.
  • Climbing & PPE Safety Equipment can only be returned on very strict conditions. Everything must be exactly as it was received, with packaging and labelling intact. If there is any sign or possibility that the goods have been used or contaminated then we regret that we are unable to accept a return on the grounds of consumer safety.
  • In the unlikely event that your purchase develops a fault, for whatever reason, then please contact us first either by telephone or email for further instructions. In the majority of cases, any faulty goods will have to be returned to us and then forwarded on to their respective suppliers for inspection. Please be aware that this process may take several weeks in some cases. Any postage costs paid will be refunded by THE CLIMBERS SHOP if a product is deemed as faulty and still under a manufacturer's warranty.

Tents - 2 Person - Lightwave G20 TREK XT

The Lightwave Trek tents strike a great balance between weight, strength and price point; Easily strong enough for most conditions you're likely to experience in the UK, year round, yet very light for backpacking or cycle touring, and all at a very attractive price. 

The semi geodesic design is robust and strong, and with the addition of an extended porch, storage of your gear or sheltered cooking in bad weather isn't going to be a problem. At 3kg, this is a serious contender for serious backpackers who like a bit of extra space in the porch.  Dog owners will love it too and Cycle tourers can even park their bike inside (at a squeeze). The twin doors offer a nice airy space to cook in, or you can tailor your access door depending on prevailing winds.

 

 

  • The trek flysheet is made from 40-denier nylon, which strikes an excellent balance between weight and strength. Like all Lightwave tent flysheets, it uses high-tenacity nylon 6.6 yarn (which has a higher tensile strength than normal nylon) and is silicone-coated on both sides (for water-resistance). Silicone coatings maintain the inherent strength of the fabric, whereas the conventional polyurethane (PU) coatings typically used on most tents reduce the tear strength by up to 70%.
  • The trek groundsheet is made from a very robust 150-denier polyester (except on the compact t10 models which use a 70-denier nylon). This is an area where many tents use 110-denier or even 70-denier fabrics to save weight and keep manufacturing costs down. For the user, however, this can be a false economy, since lighter groundsheets often need the additional reinforcement of a footprint (a separate layer of fabric between groundsheet and ground), which adds up to an even heavier tent as well as extra cost.
  • Trek poles are made of the same 7001-T6 alloy employed in probably 90% of all backpacking tents in the world. Whilst there are lighter alloys around, we always come back to the 7001 series because it is so reliable and resilient. Given that 90% of customer service on tents involves pole replacements, the 7001 poles give both us and our customers the least amount of hassle.
