I’m a GP in Whitby, North Yorks, and first had the pleasure of dealing with The Climbers Shop about 5 years ago when I needed some kit for a trip to Mont Blanc.
Mountaineering seemed the natural progression from walking and hiking, and the shop had been recommended to me by a friend.

When I arrived to make my purchases, Nick Cox spent the best part of a whole morning with me, discussing my needs and future trips. Slightly embarrassed, I mentioned that one day I would love to climb Everest. He suggested that I purchase the best gear I could at that time, and introduced me to other members of the sales force with extended expertise in mountaineering. I left the shop delighted with my purchases, and thoroughly impressed with the help and advice I’d been given.

I’ve shopped with them ever since, in fact, I don’t purchase my gear from anywhere else - if they haven’t got it then they can get it! I always deal with Nick and the personal touch that he offers me is much appreciated. The gear that I purchased on that first encounter was perfect for Mont Blanc, and with only a few additions, has also seen me to the summits of Aconcagua, Vinson and McKinley over the last 2 years.

No longer embarrassed of my dreams, I’m off to Everest in March of this year! Thanks again to The Climbers Shop for all of your support, help and expertise.
