A 240cm sling is a versatile bit of kit. Ideal for rigging belays and for looping around big flakes (or trees). The DMM 16mm x 240cm Nylon sling is excellent value for money and ideal for instructors. These big slings are perfect for groupwork and teaching novices, as the chunkier width inspires greater confidence than skinny dyneema slings.
Nylon slings have equal strength to thinner Dyneema slings, however they provide a higher safety margin as there is physically more material and can also be knotted safely (any knot in a dyneema sling will seriously reduce its strength).
