Competition Subject

Do you have a favourite outdoor product? Is there one item that you absolutely could not do without? Is there one brand that you have found seems to make products just for you, everything is perfect as far as you are concerned. Now's your chance to tell the world.

We will award a £300 Golite Eden 2 Tent to the person who makes the best, most imaginative, most enjoyable film about their favourite outdoor product or brand.

How To Enter

  1. Have an idea
  2. Make sure we stock the item / brand*
  3. Go make the film
  4. Make sure you have featured the www.climbers-shop.com address in it somewhere.
  5. Upload it onto YouTube.
  6. Send us an email with the following information;
  7. Your Name
  8. Your Daytime Telephone Number
  9. Your Email Address (yes, I know it should be on the email!)
  10. The URL link to your film
  11. Receive an email from us saying that you have been entered to the competition.
  12. Hope and pray that you get an email from us in September saying that you have been shortlisted in the top 10 films.
  13. Get all your friends and family (and just anyone you meet) to vote for you on the Climbers Shop Website
  14. Celebrate like a crazy person when you get a phone call from us saying that you have won a £300 tent!

Film Competition Winner Announced

Video comp For the past couple of months, we have been running a competition to find the best made video review of a Climbers Shop product or brand. We were convinced that we had many talented customers and friends out there who could Wow us with their imagination and humour, and although we didn’t receive many entries, we were very impressed with the standard. Unfortunately, the online voting system that we were going to use, proved a little to tricky and so we had to resort the traditional method of sitting around arguing about who should win!

However, there had to be just one winner of the Golite Eden II Tent (unless they wanted to share it’s spacious two man capacity!), so without further ado, I would like to congratulate Malcolm Moore for his winning entry.

Malcolm made a mock silent movie film extolling the virtues of chalk, and it’s sheer daftness made us chuckle. It was also a well put together video and did everything we had asked.


The tent has already been sent out to Malcolm and I expect him to be sleeping in it every night at the moment! He was very pleased that he had won and assured me that it wouldn’t find it’s way onto eBay (I should think not).

Congratulations again Malcolm, we hope you enjoy using your new tent.

  • The film must feature either a product or brand that is stocked by The Climbers Shop Ltd.
  • Only one entry per person will be accepted**.
  • The film must be uploaded to YouTube.
  • The film must feature the website address www.climbers-shop.com somewhere in its content.
  • Films should not exceed 3 minutes in length.
  • Entries must not feature offensive or abusive content†.
  • By entering the competition you will be granting The Climbers Shop Ltd and www.climbers-shop.com permission to use your film on the website, in the shop, or in future promotions.
  • All entries must be completely original work and not breach any UK copyright laws†.
  • The decision of the judges and/or voters is final and is not subject to appeal.

Any film that fails to comply with any of the above rules will not be entered to the competition.

*For clarification of items that The Climbers Shop stock, please drop us an email. It may be that we are temporarily out of stock or have stocked it in the past, in which case the entry will still be valid.

**If your film fails to comply, an attempt will be made to notify you so that you can rectify the issue and re enter the competition.

Guidelines

  • Keep you film short, interesting, and original.
  • We want to hear about why you like the product or brand;
  • Show us what's so good about it,
  • What made you buy it?
  • What sets it apart from the rest?
  • Why would you recommend it to someone else?
  • We are looking for ideas that set your film apart from everyone else's; it may make us laugh, shock us, or amaze us - think outside the box.
  • We will be looking for films that not only show the item or brand well, but also feature relevant outdoor activities.
  • You can use any video device, from a phone to an HD Slow-Mo Mega machine. While a film that shows a good level of effort may be favoured, a higher level of production will not necessarily mean that your film will be voted higher - innovative ideas will always win through.
  • As we have to deal with our suppliers on a day to day basis, please do not include content that will intentionally antagonise them or appear overly controversial. These entries may be removed from the competition.
