Check out our massive range of crampons for every sort of winter mountain junky. Walking, mountaineering and climbing - from beginner to elite - we've got the spiky things for you!
Climbing Crampons are designed for tackling technical couloirs, steep or vertical ice and mixed routes. They are fully rigid, aggressive and often feature replaceable or customisable front points. Designed for precision footwork and positive front pointing
Mountaineering crampons are more rigid than walking crampons, and are designed for general mountaineering on snow and ice. Great for classic alpinism and winter climbing, they are also semi rigid, so okay for walking in too (with compatible boots). Usually a 12 point design and often featuring a heel binding (semi auto), mountaineering crampons are a good option if you intend to do a bit more than just winter hill walking in the UK (such as alpine climbing, gully climbs, winter scrambling or technical ridges)
The most flexible sort of crampon, making them easier and more comfortable for long periods of walking. Walking crampons are usually a 10 point design and will generally feature a 'classic' style, strap on binding, which offers a universal fit to all boots. For safety and comfort walking crampons work best with a fairly rigid soled boot (Ideally a 4 season B1 rated boot) While not technically crampons we also offer a number of traction aids. These will fit all boots, but are not intended to replace crampons. They should be used for tracks and trails, rather than in the mountains.
There are a range of add on and replacement items to keep your crampons functioning to their best, such as anti balling plates. Many modular crampons also have replaceable front points and can be adapted using different centre bars.
