Looking for ideas of what to do this Bank Holiday weekend? Well, Go Lakes and Polartec have teamed up to produce some fold out guides to some of the main areas of the Lake District as part of the Adventure Capital initiative. This project, headed up by Cumbria Tourism is a drive to put The Lakes on the map as the adventure capital of England.
Available both on the internet and as easy to carry leaflets, regardless of whether you are On Foot (walking), On Wheels (biking), On Water (paddling), On Course (running) or On Ropes (climbing), there are routes designed for you.
The handy leaflets are distributed in key shops, with The Climbers Shop having stock of the Walking From Ambleside range. This leaflet not only takes you over some of the finest local landscape but also provides useful tips such as bus and accommodation info. The routes themselves are well described and the maps are clearly drawn and well annotated.
If you are coming up to the Lakes this weekend then you will definitely want to check out our weather page and webcam to see what kind of conditions you can expect. Currently its sunny and breezy but I think that is set to change this evening so I would bring a waterproof no matter what your plans are!
So, if you are at a loose end in the Lakes this weekend, pop into the shop, have a nose around our spring/summer ranges, and pick up a leaflet.
