The weather for the weekend ahead is looking like being a mixed bag of sunshine and showers. Everywhere in the Lake District is likely to get rain at some point during Saturday and Sunday and this could be locally very heavy, particularly in the North and West of the region. The good news however is that the stifling temperatures and humidity we have had over the last week will give way to cooler and fresher air over the weekend and into next week. Also away from any showers, the visiblity and temperatures will be good.
The showery weather is set to continue into next week. This will bring a welcome respite from the hot and humid conditions as cooler air moves in behind a depression moving eastwards. Low pressure is set to dominate across the northwest of the UK into the early part of next week.
