So far, this winter has been one of the coldest and 'snowiest' winters in recent times, and although the weather has warmed up a bit, there is still significant snow in the Cumbrian fells and the Scottish Highlands.
The problem of late has been that our customers have found it hard to get hold of the type of equipment needed to go walking in the snow and ice. As it's been colder than expected, suppliers have not been able to keep up with demand on axes and crampons.
We are glad to report that we have managed to secure another batch of axes and crampons however, Our Grivel stock of crampons came in last week (many of which have gone again already) and we have just taken delivery of another batch of Kahtoola Microspikes (probably one of the most sought after products of the winter).
And then, we have also bought in some more axes, including the Stubai Blue Star - a classic leashed walking axe; and the Petzl Snowalker - a super lightweight walking axe that won't add masses of weight to your pack.
