Finally, after quite a long wait, we have taken delivery of the new Garmin GPS watch called the Forerunner 310XT. This latest installment of the Forerunner series has the added bonus of plotting your position via UK grid references, as opposed to the latitude and longitude that all previous watches have used.
This development makes it much more useable, especially for a variety of long distance sport events where navigation is key, such as fell running, triathlons, and cycling races.
The Forerunner 310XT also contains such features as plotting of Time, Distance, Speed, Heart Rate (with additional HR monitor), a large, customisable screen and a fully waterproof casing.
You could also take a look at the Timex WS4 Expedition Watch that, although lacks a GPS feature gives you an Altimeter, Barometer, Compass and Thermometer, all in a water resistant, wide screen watch.
