Mark has reached Westward Ho - and has covered about 85 miles from the start in 2 days. Pretty much on schedule so and good going in anyone's book. The weather hasn't been so kind though, with plenty of heavy rain to contend with. Mark has been known to get a bit of a masochistic kick from running in bad weather, and he does live here in the Lake District after all, but even he said of today's leg "didn't enjoy today, that was just sh*te". The weather tomorrow (Sunday) is set to be better, but then rain is forecast again for Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday.
With 85 miles under his belt he's on schedule for the record, but has to keep that same average mileage up. 12 days of running still to do, whatever the weather. Many thanks to 'Tomo' Thompson who is keeping in touch with Mark along the way and is official record attempt blog master. Read his run updates at http://thepathlesstravelled.typepad.com
