Ambleside Outdoor Festival Workshops

During the course of the Ambleside Outdoor Festival (16th – 19th September) The Climbers Shop are playing host to a variety of outdoor equipment and clothing brands who will aim to provide expert advice, practical demonstrations and in store promotions for the festival going public. Most of these will be based in The Climbers Shop itself where you can benefit from the advice and also view the ranges of products available.
Biomechanics Clinic: The Rebound Clinic specialises in the diagnosis and correction of bio-mechanical dysfunction conditions – injuries from over-use - and use the latest movement analysis technology to asses the issues underlying your problems. Andrew Stanley is an expert in all chronic biomechanical dysfunction injuries in the feet and legs and as well as owning the Rebound Clinic, is also the consultant for Trail magazine. Andrew will be on hand at the shop throughout Saturday 18th for 15 minute consultations. In order to make Andrew available to as many individuals as possible, these time slots will need to be booked prior to the festival.

Saturday 18th Sept– In the boot room of The Climbers Shop
One of the longest running outdoor companies in the world, Zamberlan have been making tough walking and alpine boots since 1929, and continue to produce high quality footwear today. With their origins in rope making and mountaineering equipment, over the past few years, Mammut have become better known for their high calibre of mountaineering clothing, which has been used on many alpine and high altitude expeditions. Out of their base in Seon, Switzerland, they continue to produce the type of clothing that ay self respecting outdoor enthusiast aspires to owning and using.
Greg and Chris from Mammut will be available all day for consultations, information and advice about the kind of high end mountaineering clothing that they specialise in. As part of their workshops, they will also be giving you the opportunity to grab bargains or even the odd giveaway so that you can go out and test the kit yourself.
On Saturday & Sunday, Mammut will also be providing the chance to test your climbing skills on an artificial climbing wall (…more details)

Nikwax will be running a Footwear E.R on Saturday where you can get your tired and abused footwear seen to by the experts who will then clean them up and attempt to restore some life into them.
18th Sept – Outside The Climbers Shop
Creators of some of the worlds most popular walking and trekking poles, Leki have over 60 years of experience and knowledge when it comes to creating a pole that will both support you and aid your walking. Leki were probably the pivotal company involved in altering peoples perception of poles, from being the preserve of the old and infirm to being a piece of valued kit that helps you to travel faster, further and safer, wherever you go.
Leki will be in store the whole weekend to help people in their quest to find the perfect pole for them (no, they’re not all the same!) as well as giving you the opportunity to test some for yourself on the Fairfield Horseshoe guided walk.
