Belay Devices - Climbing Technology Groove Belay Plate

An alpine style belay plate and descender that  can be used for direct belays with one or two climbers. The Groove is a hot forged light alloy multipurpose tool belay and abseil device and descender in all in one, that can be used with single or double ropes and it allows to belay one or two second in belay station. When it's used like a descender, it's possible to modulate the rate of descendig with the insertion of the ropes in the two notches.

The groove is ideal for big mountaineering routes, caving and for rescue situations. It is designed to be used for direct belays (where the belayer is not in the system) and it should always be used with a compatible screwgate carabiner.

The Groove is wonderfully simple, but does require a level of expertise to use it correctly and safely.    This is not a beginners belay plate!
