The Wild Country Variable Controller is a true classic in UK climbing - using the versatile double slot design, Wild Country have made it so it has an angled design to 'vary the control' (hence the name!!). A serious favorite amongst indoor and outdoor climbers, the Wild Country VC is an absolute bargain here, and probably the best value belay device on the market today.
The defining feature of the VC is its wedge shape. This enables you can use the device in two different orientations, one will provide more friction, and the other will be slicker. This means that you can adjust the braking effects depending on whether you are belaying or abseiling and on different rope diameters.
