The Montane Fireball is a seriously lightweight insulated smock that is ideal for the backpacker, climber or adventure racer looking for instant warmth with minimal weight and pack size.  The beauty of the Fireball is its tiny weight and pack size.  It makes a very sensible modernday alternative to a traditional fleece; it takes up a fraction of the pack space and only weighs 240g.  It is also more wind and weather resistant than a fleece.

The simple, over the head design of the Fireball is functional through and through, with minimalist features.  It could even be described as a insulated version of Montanes ever popular Featherlite Smock.   For its insulation the Fireball uses Primaloft® Eco, which performs brillaintly yet has a 50% recycled content.  Copious reflective details improve low light safety when wearing the Fireball.

A really fine piece of clothing. Very light and a nice, close fitting. I get by with just a vest underneath but have also worn it with a fleece gilet on top. The neck is slightly too tight for me on a medium though but that is due to the size of my neck(through sporting pursuits) and not the fault of the top.Order your true size here. This is THE definitive, lightweight cool weather top
