The Mammut Base Jump pants have long been one of the best selling soft shell pants around.  Mammut have now tweaked the design further to produce the Base Jump Advanced pants.  Designed for mountaineering and classic alpinism, the Base Jumps are virtually wind proof and highly weather resistant.  They won't restrict movement due to their inherent 4 way stretch and are also very breathbale, keeping you dry and comfortable whilst being active in the mountains.  They have a multiude of applications and will happily cope with ski touring, rock climbing, Via ferrata or alpine trekking. They make superb autumn/winter/spring UK hill walking pants too.  These are the shorter leg version.

Ordered these for walking in the winter but they are just as good for spring and autumn. A very good fit and really comfy. I think they are well worth the price as they will last for ever. Smart looking too. Another thing too, although this has nothing to do with climbing, when you have been out all day in the fells, and return tired to a hotel bar in Patterdale for a well earned pint, and a female customer says "his bum looks good in them pants" then they are CERTAINLY worth buying! :-)

Phoned and ordered these to go to the Atlas mountains, they arrived the next day ready for the trip, very comfortable, warm and hard wearing, best trousers I have purchased, well worth the money, also wore them climbing in North Wales and they performed superbly on a cold wet November day. Great range of sizes, I am a 29 inch leg and 29 inch waist and the size 22 fit like a glove, would have liked a belt included for that price though !!!! Fantastic service from the climbers shop with the delivery.
