These are relatively light and high performance approach shoes. The grip is awesome at least on dry granite. Lack of traction and grip on wet grass and rock is however a serious con. Actual climbing performance is stellar, a great shoe for long moderate mountain routes (for a E1 punter like me, these perform well up to VS). The 5.10 quality control in the otherhand leaves much (end missing)

The Tennies are much lighter than the impacts for biking with the same exceptional grip. I also went up a 20ft granite face on Hope Mountain like a mountain goat. A must have if you multi-sport.

UPDATE: I rode up in Scotland (Pebbles) using these shoes and they are an absolute revelation. I always ride my mountain bike with Vans and flat pedals and these grip flats like nothing else Ive ridden in. Hammered around the Pebbles black route and the grip is superb. Definitely buy these if you ride and MTB and dont use SPDs.

Dead grippy like all of the Five Ten shoes. Not as smart looking in the flesh as the Yosemites, but still a decent pair of treads.
