The Edelrid Cable Kit is specifically for Via Ferrata routes, and uses a stitched through 'ripper' style shock absorber, which is neatly held in a zipped pouch. The shock absorber system relies on a folded, stitched through sling creating a frictionless break system that works even in the wet. It is also lighter and less cumbersome than a traditional Via Ferrata lanyard system.
The Cable Kit also features elasticated 'cowtails' which retract neatly when not extended, and won't dangle around your knees as many other VF kits do. Laser cut flat karabiners with locking, palm squeeze opening offer huge a safety margins, whilst being light and ergonomic
