Since recently moving nearer gritstone i decided my rack needed more cams. I had technical friends, camalots & DMM dragon cams out in a climbing shop and spent a while testing them and looking at the pros and cons of each. I decided on the technical friends as i thought they were the best overall. It would be great if they had a extendable sling like the Dragon Cam, and i thought the thumb loop on the camalot would be useful to help stabilise it for placements, especially with gloves on in winter. They are superbly well made, a bit heavier than the others and the range of each cam isnt quite as wide as the DMM or BD BUT they felt the best in the hand. I have recently bought about 4 of them and, having used and fallen on them for real, are very pleased with them. Sizes 2.5 - 4 are great for grit. Buying them in a set of 3 is better value (though you will need karabiners). They ARE expensive but i managed to buy some from the Climbers Shop on sale and wish i had bought the lot!! Arrived very quickly too.
