The Petzl Core rechargeable battery can be retro-fitted to the Petzl Tikka 2/Zipka 2 series of headtorches and has a lifespan equivalent to 900 regular AAA batteries. It is recharged via a USB port of a laptop or PC.
The Petzl Core Battery is a Lithium Ion Polymer battery giving you superb battery life and exceptional cold weather performance. It also weighs less than conventional disposable batteries. The Core Battery can be recharged 300 charging cycles before its performance is affected, which is equivalent to using 900 AAA batteries! The Core battery is therefore a much greener and less expensive option long term if you are a Tikka 2/Zipka 2 user. The Core Battery has a USB connection so can be charged from any standard USB port on a computer. A optional recharger unit that will charge from the mains or a car cigarette lighter is also available.
The Core Battery can even be programmed using Petzl's OSsoftware which is available from www.petzl.com; The Petzl OS software allows you to customise the batteries output profile.
