Men's Softshell - Rab Vapourise Stretch Top

A highly technical close fitting pull-on top using Rab's popular Vapour rise system. Powerstretch panels ensure the most effective fit for moisture transfer and optimum insulation.  The closer, athletic fit appeals to climbers, mountain bikers and mountain runners.  Perfectly suited to moving fast in the mountains during cooler and changeable conditions. The VR Trail Stretch Top is designed to keep you comfortable during high energy and endurance activities, is quick drying and wind resistant, and offers both insulation and wicking performance, all in one super functional garment.

 

The Vapour-rise Stretch top is a lightweight Pertex Equilibrium mid layer - but also doubles as a base layer for very cold conditions.

The Vapour-rise Stretch top features Pertex Equilibirum with a micro fleece wicking liner, Polartec Powerstretch side panels and cuffs add stretch and freedom of movement as well as providing a nice close fit. Lycra bound thumbloops keep the sleeves in place and a single napoleon pocket is ideal for essentials.

The Vapour-rise Stretch top is a tried and tested piece and is much loved by Mountaineers, walkers, climbers and bikers as an incredibly versatile base/mid layer for year round use.

I purchased this top for a week of cross-country skiing. In temperatures between -10 to +5 I was very happy with it. Mostly it was worn with a singlet base layer and occasionally an e-vent lightweight waterproof when particularly cold or snowing. It was comfortable to wear and effective in transferring the sweat produced with extended periods of skiing uphill and dried quickly. Adjustable cuffs would have helped if wanting to push the sleeves up but that was my own gripe. When I next replace an older fleece this will be my first choice.
