The 4000 Eiger RR's are modern, highly technical mountaineering boots from Italian bootmakers Zamberlan. They are extremely light and precise and are made solely to meet the demands of technical ice climbing and modern alpinism.
The '4000' in the Eigers name denotes the 4000m altitude mark where these boots are very much at home. They feature an external gaiter made of stretch Cordura® Schoeller® laminated to PE to provide good abrasion resistance, enhances insulation and prevents the ingress of water, ice and powder snow into the tops of the boots. This means conventional gaiters are no longer needed, reducing weight, fuss and bulk. The gaiter has a Riri® zip and protective cover
A high rubber rand all around the boot provides maximum protection and durability. The 4000 Eiger's also have an internal bootee made of Cordura® 1100 laminated to polyethylene and lined in polyester and MTP for maximum thermal insulation and comfort.
The thermal removable footbed has a PE layer for cushioning and an aluminum film for better insulation, whilst the nylon and fiberglass midsole offer excellent rigidity for minimal weight. The sole unit is a Vibram® Teton sole with EVA wedge and it incorporates the Zamberlan® PCS crampon system.
