About Petzl Zyper Vertigo Via Ferrata Landyard Petzl Zyper Y Vertigo. An energy absorbing lanyard specifically designed for via-ferrata. Effective and easy to use, the Zyper dynamically absorbs energy by sliding of the rope in the absorber (Kinetic Impact Shock Absorber or KISA) device.
Special high strength stitching joins the rope to the two arms of the Y-shaped webbing lanyard, eliminating any bulky knots. The braking rope is tidily stored on the gear-loops of the harness, keeping it out of the way of your feet. A webbing loop allows direct attachment of the lanyard to the harness with a lark's foot knot, again eliminating bulk and weight. Supplied with 2 auto-locking carabiners, which are easy to unlock with just one finger, have a wide gate opening (to allow easy clipping), and an easy to manipulate shape. Rubber grippers hold carabiners conveniently orientated for use, and protects webbing from abrasion.
Unlike some other systems, the Zyper Vertigo can be re-set if a fall is taken, which means you can get off the mountain and still be protected.
