While only slightly heavier than a bivy bag, the Hilleberg Akto tent offers a lot more space, and it's vestibule easily accommodates all your gear. It still packs down to a package that easily fits into a pack's side pocket and its single-pole, tunnel design sheds wind, snow and rain with no problem at all.

Pitching the Akto tent is very simple: Insert the pole into the pole sleeve, place the end into the pole tensioner, then peg the corners and the guy lines on each end. Fibreglass rods in the corners of the outer tent provide extra height, eliminating the claustrophobia that many solo tents suffer from.

The Hilleberg Akto is a true 4 season tent, yet its total weight is only 1.60 kg . The Tunnel design and linked inner and outer tents makes it very simple and quick to set up, and provides a high degree of stability in all conditions. 

Pitching requires only four pegs – one for each of the corner guy lines – yet an additional six points provide more options for increasing stability.

The Hilleberg Akto’s ventilation works regardless of weather conditions, since both the inner tent’s fabric is highly breathable, and the main front vent – integrated into the door – is protected by a generous hood. Both ends of the tent have zipper closure vents as well.

I carefully selected the Hilleberg Akto for solo hiking all year round in the wet scandinavian climate. I have used the tent this summer: its fast to set up, it endures heavy rains and its inner tent remains bone dry when pitched in heavy rain. good materials and craftsmanship too.

The very best tent for one. It may be a little heavier than the recent offerings by other well known manufaturers, but this will last far longer and still sell secondhand for a very good price-that is if you are able to part with it!

I have used this tent for several years now.An excellent tent which has never failed me despite some severe weather. The only time I suffered from condensation was when I forgot to open the lower vents after pitching.Perhaps a bit dated now. There are lighter tents available, but are they as tough? Also it must be admitted, its v. expensive.

overrated and not true 4 season tent. Great for below the treeline but there are several issues with it. Poor condensation issues, low height so that you have to stoop, quite heavy for a 1 man tent and very expensive

Guys, agree great little tent, easy pitch, roomy, comfortable with a great porch BUT CONDENSATION is terrible. Every time time I’ve used this tent I’ve packed a saturated tent in the morning that’s in Scotland in the summertime! Can’t compare it to other solo tents because this is the only one I’ve used. Do all solo tents suffer from this problem, I.E. Terra Nova Laser.

An excellent tent. I had a comfortable night at up Ben Nevis even with 2 ft of snow. The Akto evem survived a navy helicopter almost landing on it.
