The Montane Women's Extreme Jacket uses the tried and tested Pile/pertex original softshell combination to keep you comfortable through a range of climatic conditions and varying levels of activity. This system has been used by a number of manufacturers for many years, most notably Buffalo, and is it still favoured by many for its sheer adaptability in changeable weather.
Originally designed to act as a one layer system - base-layer, mid-layer and outer layer combined, it should be worn against the skin or over a fast wicking technical layer optimum performance. This clothing system is perfect for really active woman who want to eliminate the stop-start routine associated with adjusting traditional layered clothing systems. The deep pile inner pulls moisture and sweat away from the skin, which is then dispersed by the mega breathable Pertex 6 outer. The Pertex is windproof and highly water resistant, so rain, snow and wind won't affect you when you are moving. Any water that does penetrate is quickly pushed out by the capillary action of the pile, and evaporated by your body heat.
