The Black Diamond Alpine BOD is simple, stripped down and proven alpine harness.  Its minimal design allows a low pack size and weight which will appeal to ski mountaineers and tourers. The Alpine Bod uses a traditional webbing design with very few frills and is very focused towards alpine climbing rather than sports climbing.  It is designed to be comfortable for long periods of walking as well as on steep terrain, making this excellent as a Via ferrata harness.

The lack of a belay loop and padding means that this harness is not recommended for beginners.
