Ive not tried this with a daysack, Ive used it to stabilise a heavy sack containing a laptop. And my conclusion is: if you have a SwissGear or TechAir or similar laptop bag, you really, really want one of these. Stops the "sliding off the shoulder" effect as you get on and off trains etc.
Some minor quibbles: the way the strap attaches to the existing straps is liable to cause some bunching, and it actually works loose about once every 2 weeks or so in regular use. Still, I wouldnt be without it, unless a better product comes along.
