Made from carbon steel, the hot forged head has a gentle curve and a wide adze (welded to head) for step cutting. The shaft carries the 'B' rating, yet is still very strong and is engineered to a very high standard. The Munro is an ideal first ice axe, happily coping with winter walking and basic mountaineering on non-technical ground.
