The Scarpa Manta has long been the benchmark for British winter boots, comfortable and warm enough for prolonged use and stiff enough to take UK mountaineering crampons, it has everything you need for Scottish winter use. Now featuring the option of using a GSB crampon which offers a better fit whilst also lowering the overall weight.
As the consumate mountaineering boot, the Manta is ideally suited to hill, mountain and glacier walking on rugged terrain and the occasional easier alpine and Uk winter climb. Close to a staggering 10% weight loss has been achieved by moving to the New GSB- Jorasses sole unit and pro-fiber midsole, in turn the boot has been lowered, making it more dexterous and stable underfoot. Despite the weight reduction Scarpa have been able to add a generous rubber rand, which adds protection and abrasion resistance.
