The Ultra is the brightest head torch Petzl has ever produced; they're aimed at anyone who wants easily portable light and lots of it! That could mean climbers, runners, adventure racers, orienteer’s, mountain bikers or just people who are very, very scared of the dark!
The Ultra consists of 6 ultra powerful advanced technology LED's to provide a long range beam and short distance flood lighting at the same time. The power to the LED's is regulated, so you get the same level of light right the way through the lamp's burn time.
This makes the headtorch ideal for winter trail runners, mountain rescue teams, mountain bikers and outdoor professionals that may spend a good deal of time out at night. The powerful 120m long distance beam means that the way ahead is well illuminated meaning obstacles in the dark can be easily avoided - this means you are effectively wearing your very own street lighting on dark winter evening runs or you can search large areas at night without carrying bulky hand held torches. The close area lighting means you can see where you are putting your feet on rocky trails.
The build quality of the Ultra is exceptional and it is designed for hardcore use. It can take the knocks! It is also highly weather resistant.
There are three light levels, selected with an easy-to-use dial on the side of the light - simple to operate even with big gloves or mitts on.
The Ultra can be easily adapted to suit various situations and uses as it is a fully modular design. It can be converted with optional extras such as a bigger battery pack, a remote battery cable or a specially designed vest, that the battery attachs to.
A 2 ACCU rechargeable battery pack is included with a recharger, and this offers about 2 hours of light on full power or up to 16 hours on the lowest setting (which is still about as bright as a MYO XP on full power). The battery pack has an integrated battery level meter, so checking battery life is a doddle.
The head cradle is very comfortable, distributing the weight and keeping everything secure and balanced, even when your are running or climbing - comfort is essential for long evening runs or bike rides.
