About La Sportiva Trango Alp GTX The Trango Alp is a performance boot intended for multi uses in mountain terrain. It has the versatility to accept a semi-auto crampon, is rigid enough for climbing and scrambling, yet is also comfortable to walk in and supportive enough to deal with long distance load hauling.
These boots are at home tackling Via ferrata or an alpine 'Grand Course' route. They are possibly the ideal boots for a summer ascent of Mt. Blanc.
They are also perfectly suited to high level trekking - great for the Chamonix-Zermatt Haute Route, one of the Alta Via or a GR route. The Gore Tex lining means they happily cope with snow, ice, mud and rain.
It is the Vibram sole unit that really differentiates the Alp from the rest of the Trango range, which offers better cushioning and grip when walking. The deeper tread of the sole unit is better suited to walking over rough, mountain terrain and provides more grip on wet and loose surfaces than the rest of the Trango range, which are more climbing focused. The sole incorporates Impact Brake System technology which absorbs impact, improves traction and holds the foot whilst braking on any terrain.
The uppers of the Trango Alp's are a combination of leather and synthetic materials, which provide high levels of durability with comfort and breathability. The 3D Flex System multidirectional joint also offers great ankle support and mobility in all directions. The ankle cuff is also slightly higher than the Trango S Evo or the Trango Extreme Evo Lite.
